About ENDS Carbon
It’s hard to do your best if you don’t know how well you’re doing. Averting dangerous climate change will require exceptional carbon efficiency gains. To achieve them companies want to answer question like: how are we doing against our peers? What are our strengths and weaknesses? Which carbon management approaches are most effective? Even though many companies have calculated their carbon footprints, they don’t know how well they are doing because carbon foot-prints are often hard to compare. ENDS Carbon aims to make carbon performance visible: working with companies to develop fair and robust metrics to enable them to see how effective their carbon management is relative to their peers, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
ENDS Carbon is a leading provider of carbon performance benchmarking and ratings. It grew out of the Carbon Benchmarking Project at Edinburgh University Business School. CBP was founded in 2007 with a vision to create sector-carbon performance benchmarks. In 2008, a university spin-out company was created to accelerate the development of carbon benchmarking. In 2009 this received a major investment from Haymarket, the publisher of the ENDS Report, the leading journal for environmental policy and business in the UK. ENDS Carbon is now a stablemate to the ENDS Report, and retains strong links to Edinburgh University Business School, which continues to provide a home for the ENDS Carbon Research team.
